Samsung Electronics, a week earlier released the release schedule of Android 9 Pie for their smartphones, in the new year chose to make some adjustments to it. This drew the attention of journalists SamMobile. The company has shifted releases for some devices of 2018 and 2017 model years, appointing the release of updates at an earlier date. Thus, the Koreans confirmed that they have no problems with the efficiency of the update and are ready to present it to the world.

The changes affected two smartphones: Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 9. According to the new schedule of updates, the phablet of the current generation will receive Android 9 Pie in January, not in February, as originally reported, while the previous generation device will be updated not in March, but in February. Thus, the time gap between the releases of updates for devices of different years will be only a month, which is somewhat atypical for Samsung, which is used to postpone the update to the last.

As for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, for them Android 9 Pie will be released in accordance with the original schedule — in March. Apparently, the developers took more time to adapt the update for these devices than for the Galaxy Note 8, despite their hardware and design similarities with the Galaxy S9 and S9+, which have already gained access to the update.

Earlier it was reported that Samsung does not exclude the possibility of Android 9 Pie for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. At the moment, according to Geekbench, the company is testing for compliance of smartphone hardware with the functionality of the update, which brings a lot of innovations, the main of which is the new software shell One UI. This is an extremely important phase from which depends, will there be a release update or it will be cancelled.
