Perfectly Keyless stores the digital key directly in the smartphone, using the developed mobile application. As soon as the driver approaches the car, the digital key management software transmits via a cloud server from a smartphone a signal to the sensors embedded in the car. If the sensors recognize a digital key, the system sends a signal to the digital door lock control unit, opening them.

The most pleasant part is that the driver does not even need to get the phone and apply it to some particular part of the car to unlock it. Since the information is transmitted through the cloud, the sensors read the digital key from the smartphone, even if it lies in a pocket, bag or backpack. This allows Perfectly Keyless to stand out from the rest of similar NFC-based systems. Rather, it is similar to the keyless entry technology used in Tesla Model 3 electric vehicles, the Digital Trends portal notes.

Bosch sees several benefits of using Perfectly Keyless technology. The most obvious is that it can make life more comfortable for drivers. No need to carry a bunch of keys with you, which can be easily lost, will certainly contribute to this. Everything you need will be stored on your smartphone, so people do not even have to change their habits. It will be enough just to go to your car, open the door, press the engine start button and go about your business. According to the developers, the technology can also find its application in carsharing programs, which are gaining popularity, promising to seriously simplify them.

What are the disadvantages of this technology? For example, what happens if you lose your phone or someone steals it? Bosch has envisaged such situations. The company notes that the owner will be able to deactivate the digital key via the Internet in seconds by blocking or unlocking access to the car. And, of course, you still have to make sure that the battery of your mobile device is always charged so that you can get into the car.
