The collapsible Galaxy F, which is slated for release in the first half of next year, will be an extremely niche product, and therefore will not be available in wide retail as originally intended. Samsung Electronics made such conclusions by conducting a public opinion poll. According to its results, it was possible to form an image of a potential consumer who is ready to fork out for the purchase of such an unusual and, most importantly, extremely expensive device.
The main audience of buyers Galaxy F, according to Samsung, will consist of businessmen and people in leadership positions at the age of more than 40 years, estimated sociologists of the company. This is the most suitable age, according to Samsung, to buy such an unusual smartphone. First, not everyone will be able to appreciate its functionality and the benefits of folding design. And, secondly, the high price of the device is unlikely to allow to buy it to teenagers and consumers from the middle class.
How much will the Galaxy F
Realizing that those who will be ready to pay for the Galaxy F from 1500 to 2000 dollars, Samsung plans to produce a smartphone in limited editions. The first will have no more than a million copies, but if necessary, production volumes can be increased. However, it is hardly worth counting on it, because, as practice shows, many consumers do not fully understand why and who needs a smartphone with a folding design.
It is expected that Galaxy F will be presented at the MWC exhibition in Barcelona, which will be held at the end of February next year. The future device will be equipped with three displays, two of which will form a single working panel with a diagonal of 7 inches. The smartphone will be based on the most productive Qualcomm processor, 6 GB of RAM and a set of two or three cameras. But the support of 5G should not be expected, as the vendor plans to save on the cost of the device and keep its price within reasonable limits.
