The American media accused Roscosmos of populism and advised to do business

Journalist Eric Berger of the popular American IT-edition Ars Technica commented on the Roscosmos video about the creation of a spacecraft with a nuclear power plant, criticizing the Russian space Corporation and its partners for populism. According to Berger, representatives of the Russian rocket and space industry instead of criticizing the work of the head of the American private company SpaceX Elon Musk and publishing videos on YouTube should really do the development.

The publication commented on the statement of the Director General of the research center named after Vladimir Koshlakov Keldysh, in which he noted that SpaceX and Elon Musk use old technologies. In the same video Roscosmos was presented the appearance of the spacecraft operating on the basis of a nuclear power plant.

“When 50-year-old rockets and space technologies take off in your country, you can’t say that other countries use “old technologies”. Also, create an engine and stop making videos on YouTube and we’ll believe it’ll ever happen,” writes Eric Berger.

In addition, the journalist was outraged by Koshlakov’s words that SpaceX does not pose a threat to Roscosmos, as it is kept afloat thanks to the support of the government.

Recall that SpaceX is the only company in the world that successfully uses the technology of reusable rocket launches in practice, not only in the framework of tests. In Russia, the development of a reusable launch vehicle is also underway. It is expected that the first tests will be carried out in 2022.
